More home beautification

Does that thing really say 4?!  Eeeeeek!  I have a doctor's appt this morning, so hopefully I'll get a better idea of where things stand.  Thought for sure I was going Saturday night - contractions 5 min. apart for a few hours, but then I laid down and they went away.  Things have been quiet yesterday and today, just lots of rolling around and trying to push his way out my side.  Pleasant!  LOL

60407_2 It was another very productive weekend.  First thing Saturday, we had a photo shoot with the girls.  I haven't had my backdrop out in months, but when I saw a framed picture of a girl holding a starfish in the Pottery Barn Kids window last weekend, I KNEW I had to do this for the baby's room.  Tom was an excellent assistant and I did a very good job of staying calm (which is almost impossible for me to do when taking pictures of our little spazzos).  They were very excited about having their pictures in his room, though, so that certainly helped. (PS - Starfish is from Pottery Barn - I wasn't able to find it online, though).  I have the pics framed in 8x10 white frames above his crib and they are so cute.  The room is juuuust about done, so I will definitely share pics soon.  If only I could find some barrels like these for the room - good toy storage and so nautically fun.  Ideas?

604072 Tom then spent many, many hours painting our bedroom, which is very green now.  It's definitely the boldest room in the house, but I find it very soothing.  The girls were being SO bad in Lowe's (running around in circles, knocking down displays) that the woman behind the counter ended up mixing 3 gallons of the darkest color on the card instead of the middle one (Valpar Organic Green), which is what I wanted.  I almost lost it in the store and then Tom mixed it with a 1/2 gallon of white and it turned out to be the exact shade I wanted - whew!  NEVER a dull moment.

I went out yesterday and picked up that brown damask pillow from Home Goods along with another pillow in this fabric at Kirklands for a solid colored loveseat to put by the window someday.  I would love to spruce up the room with some new artwork, but we have SO many other things on the list.  Besides, I HAVE to replace the white plastic curtain rods with some pewter ones very soon because they are sagging from the girls hanging on them and they were only supposed to be temporary.

Speaking of "the list", would love if we could add on to the girls' swingset this summer, wallpaper the powder room and oh yeah, pick up on that whole basement project thing we seemed to have forgotten about ;)  I have a feeling we'll be so tired soon that we won't even be able to think past bottles and diaper changes - which is probably why we've been so crazy with work lately.  We KNOW our lives are about to change drastically :)

4 more days? WOW! I can't wait to see that little guy! :o)

LOVE all your decorating - especially the green wall and the pic of the girls. SOOOOO cute!

Wow Heather - that portrait you took of the girls is bee-u-ti-ful!! It looks like it came directly from a Pottery Barn ad or something - it is really gorgeous. Fabulous work, girlfriend. As for having your life change drastically, the good news is that newborns sleep a lot, so the little guy will give you some time to ease into the change, LOL! Your house looks absolutely beautiful and I L-O-V-E the green bedroom. I feel your pain with the "close call" on the too-dark paint. I have to tell you my Home Goods story from this weekend. On Friday I bought a beautiful piece of artwork there and got a great deal. It was huge and beautifully framed, and I DROPPED it on my way out of the store. The glass didn't break but the staples around the glass and matting came loose. My friendly frame shop down the street restapled it for me and hung a heavy wire for easier hanging, and wrapped it in plastic so it wouldn't get rained on. They only charged me $5. (They are great). I got it home, and without thinking, used my automatic trunk opener. The artwork slipped out, fell on the driveway and the glass smashed!!! I was almost in tears and I was swearing like a truck driver. My husband calmly cleaned up the big glass shards and placed the artwork (and me) all back up in the car and drove us back to the frame shop. In three hours, they replaced the glass for only $39 and it is now hanging beautifully in my living room, LOL! Never a dull moment here either, Heather! Kasie

You and Tom continue to amaze me! LOL I love the green bedroom--but I think my husband would die if I suggested a color that bold. ;) The room looks great! Wonderful picture of the girls. I'm dying to see what you have done with the nursery!! At least you have knocked so many things off your to-do list lately. Make sure to get some rest when you can. :)

omg girlfriend - you may have one of the worst (most productive) cases of nesting i've ever heard about it - why don't you and tom hop up on the roof later today and put on a set of shingles! LOL

i love, love, love the photo w/the girls - such a good idea, i think there is really something to putting sibling/family photos in our children's rooms (now, if mine only looked 1/2 as good as your photos do - they'd be art pieces!) never-the-less, you've inspired me (especially w/the starfish - perfect!)

so...i guess i lost the guessing game - 'cause by my calculations, you should have had *baby who's name should remain secret 'til after his birth* on june 3, early am! LOL

hang in there - and i'm sure you could get that basement finished by 5pm tonight! LOL

xoxo,d

The green looks great and I love the picture of your girls. So cute!

Show us some new nursery pictures - Please!

I agree with everyone above... you guys have the biggest case of nesting I have ever seen - but you are actually getting things accomplished. I never made it that far! ;-) LOVE LOVE the green bedroom. I have a color of green that I am DYING to get in our house somewhere but can't figure out what room to put it in. That picture of the girls is GORGEOUS and I LOVE that you are putting it in the nursery. Where did you get that starfish? My office is beach themed and I would LOVE to use the idea for portraits of my kiddos in here!! I might even have to take the starfish with me to the beach to get some "location" shots with it. ;-)

The green is awesome . . . your room is beautiful! Totally what I would like to have in my room. I am just amazed that you made it in to Lowe's. With my last pregnancy, the last few weeks were horrible for me. All of the stores seemed so hot, and the walking got to be too much for me. And I had to be induced 2 weeks before my due date, so I have no clue what 4 or 5 days before would have looked like! Not only are you shopping, you are taking amazing pictures as well. I feel like such a slacker! :)

Your bedroom color came out great. I love it. That photo of the girls is amazing. And let me just remind you that while your countdown ticker may say 4 days, you only actually have 2 left. Remember, you're supposed to being doing a June 6th @ 7:44pm zen chant ;)

Okay, so I'm starting to feel a little sorry for your husband, lol. I just painted our bedroom last week and forgot how much work it is! I do love that color with the brown furniture, very pretty.

That is an amazing photo of your girls. Simply gorgeous! I bet it looks awesome hanging up and framed. Oh and your room is incredible, love the color. And slow down a little, you're wearing me out with all that nesting while I'm just sitting here chilling at my computer. lol!

4 days!?! :)

those photos are gorgeous!
LOVE the lighting in them!

Y'all are amazing. The most productive weekend people EVER. Please rub off on me!!! :) The photo of the girls is gor-geous. Beautiful. And your room?? You know I love it!

OK, first off green is my FAVORITE color, so I am lovin' the new bedroom color! Love, love, love those pics of the girls. What a GREAT idea for the nursery! It amazes me what you are able to accomplish less than a week before delivery!!!!

Loooooove that paint color, and that gorgeous, gorgeous shot of the girls! I can't believe they worked with you on that one! (How many fruit snacks did that take? Hee hee!)

you make me tired just reading what you're up to and i'm not about to give birth - holy moly, girl! ;)

Heather, oh my gosh, you make me want to take a nap just reading your blog. You are wearing me out LOL!!! I think it's great though.

Have you thought of calling one of those places where you make your own wine for those barrels? A You Brew kind of place? Just a thought : )

I'd love to see a picture of the baby's room too!!!

Take care and don't forget to put your feet up once in a while.

xoxo Michele

WOW! The picture is beautiful! I think that's a great idea to put pics of the girls in his room. I need to do that in my son's room. My girls would love it. Love the way your home is decorated. -- My guess for the baby was June 1st, so I'm out. Can't wait to hear about him.

That photo of the girls is absolutely precious!! That's an AWESOME idea to have a picture of them in the baby's room!

I LOVE the pic of the girls...I LOVE the bedroom....and I totally want to steal the sea-theme nursery! I'd also like to change my vote on when you are having this boy. =-) darn it! I lost!

That picture of the girls is darling. We have an ocean theme in our bathroom so I a might just have to copy your idea! How and the heck do you get Tom do all this stuff. I have to nag and nag and nag and it still doesn't get done!

Heather your bedroom is gorgeous! I looks like something out of a magazine. How do you do that?!? And the picture of your girls is stunning! What a brilliant and perfect touch for the baby's nursery. I swear, your nesting is rubbing off on me. All I can think of is what I need to redecorate in my house. I have been watching "Designed to Sell" and having a grand time making a list of things I want Kelly to do. If only he were as agreeable as Tom. :)

omigosh, Heather, that picture of the girls is GORGEOUS! I don't have a backdrop, but I am now convinced I need one! Wow! I love that. Your room is beautiful too, can't wait to see that sweet boys room now! :) Good wishes for you and your family in the coming weeks!

Seriously, could that picture of your girls be any cuter?!?! Did you just use natural lighting?! I'm sure they love seeing their pic in their baby brother's room. Now, get some rest! With how much you have been running around, I'm surprised that baby just hasn't popped out! :o)

I LOVE the green color in your bedroom. I think green is so soothing. Great job on the pictures of the girls. What a cute idea! I can't believe you only have 4 days left!

That green color is AMAZING!!! LOVE IT!!!!

Drooling over the picture of your girls. Just showed my six year and asked him if he would pose with his brother like that....he said, "huhuh" It would look so cool in there beach room. Loving that green in the bedroom...can't wait to see the baby's room. As for the barrels, they are outrageous price even at wholesale if I remember correctly, I'll have to look again at market this month. I want some for my next house by the bar. I want to cut them in half and fix then on the wall. Maybe that boy will come tonight!

Totally killer shade of green! Thumbs up.

oh, that green is gorgeous!
I can't believe only 4 days...

OMG those photos are incredible!! And LOVE the green bedroom!!! Green is my absolute FAV color....that looks so great! Can't wait to see what awesome photos you take with the baby!! :-)
